We share the publication “Research Essays and Gender Perspective”, vol. II (2022) edited by Patricia Ruiz Bravo and Aranxa Pizarro. This publication includes the winning texts of the II Contest of Essays on Research and Gender Perspective organized during 2020 by the UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality in Higher Education Institutions and the Research Group on Gender Studies of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. How to move forward with academic work in a context of crisis and pandemic? This is the challenge we have faced in the last two years and we have faced it from different areas of academic life. From the Chair, it gave us the opportunity to promote the first international edition of the essay contest, thus betting on reflection, analysis and encounter. In the undergraduate category, essays were received from various countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Uruguay and Peru. In the postgraduate category, essays were received from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, United States, France, Mexico and Peru. All the essays received underwent a blind evaluation carried out by professors specialized in their respective subject areas and the finalist texts were submitted to an Evaluation Committee that selected the winning essays and awarded the order of merit. We would like to thank all the people who sent in their essays, the teachers who gladly accepted to review them and offer feedback in their evaluations, and those who formed the Evaluation Committee for both categories. We would also like to thank Luz María Muñoz for her great support in bringing this publication to fruition, as well as Doris Mesones, Camila Bustamante and Luciana Córdova.
