The aim of the research was to determine the prevalence of sexual harassment among students in the university community of five universities belonging to the Peruvian University Network in order to create new gender policies to address this problem. A quantitative study was conducted based on a survey of male and female students at the National University of the Peruvian Amazon, the National University of Trujillo, the National University of Central Peru, the National University of San Agustin and the National University of San Antonio de Abad del Cusco. The results from the five universities mentioned above show that sexual harassment is experienced by a large percentage of the student population. In view of this situation, work is under way to implement policies against sexual harassment that will apply to all the universities belonging to the Peruvian University Network.
